All About Liberty Ridgebacks of Missouri
We have loved the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed for years. We own both parent dogs, Nandi and Zulu. They are both full-bred and AKC registered. Zulu, our male, has limited registration, so his offspring will not be registered. Our puppies have their health check at 6 weeks and are fully vaccinated and dewormed by the time they go to their forever homes. We feed our dogs extremely healthy food, and supplement our mama dog with all sorts of meat and eggs while she’s pregnant and nursing to make sure she has all the nutrients she needs so she can pass along all the proper nutrients to her puppies. We spend countless hours caring for and playing with each litter to make sure they are healthy and well socialized by the time they go to their forever homes.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback Breed
If you haven’t heard much about this breed, here are a few reasons we love them so much. They were originally bred to hunt lions in Africa. They are the only breed of dogs known to be able to corner a lion and survive. They are high energy and protective, but in the evening they love to snuggle at your feet and relax. They are good with people and kids once they know there is no threat to their owners. They rarely bark, only when alerting you to danger or someone approaching. They have a distinctive ridge of hair running the opposite direction on their back. They are highly intelligent dogs.
MEET OUR RIDGEBACKS
Nandi
female
Nandi is a hunter and protector by nature. She’s fast and strong and always keeps a watchful eye. She loves to hike and wrestle with Zulu. She’s so loyal and loves to snuggle up on her pillow in the evenings.
Zulu
male
Zulu is playful and sensitive, yet he’s always watching out for his people. He is impressive with his broad head and chest. He loves to chase balls, frisbees and Nandi. If Nandi’s not in the mood to play, he’s fine playing by himself. In the evenings, he wants to be as close to us as possible, which usually means sitting on our feet.
